Children and Young People's Counselling and Therapy
Children and Young People's Counselling and Therapy
Sometimes young people need a safe space
Children & Young People’s psychotherapy and counselling for ages 11- 17 years.
Face to Face and online.
Sometimes young people need a safe space away from friends and family to talk about their feelings and process anything they are finding challenging. Often teenagers can struggle with life issues such as school life, friendships, relationships, the development of their identity all of which may lead to anxiety.
I specialise in ( but not limited to) anxiety and worry and all things related such as family breakups, anger, or loss.
Children under 11
I am happy to work alongside parents and caregivers to facilitate supporting your child.
Parental/Caregiver involvement
Your involvement in your child’s therapy can make them feel more supported, it is essential you know what is helpful to your child in between sessions for therapy to be successful. The extent of your collaboration in your child’s therapy depends on their age and why they are coming to sessions. All parents and caregivers should be involved to some degree.
Consent
Children can’t consent to their own mental health support. That means that parents will legally need to be involved in their child’s therapy at least in the very beginning in order to provide consent.
